形態特徵

• Glabrous herbs, often bearing whorls of turions (vegetative reproductive structures) on inflorescence axis.
• Leaves radical, 6-7 cm long, 6-8 cm wide, ribbed, with 9-11 nerves converging at both ends; petiole 30-55 cm long, 3-6 mm in diam., narrowly winged toward base. Inflorescences few or solitary, panicles, 40-60 cm long.
• Flowers bisexual, verticillate in fascicles of 3, bracts lanceolate, acuminate; pedicel 1.2-2 cm long; sepals green, ovate, 3-4 mm long, reflexed, persistent; petals white, spatulate, 6-8 mm long, reflexed; anthers basifixed; carpels 15-17, with longitudinal ribs, style slender, 1.5 mm long.
• Achenes with a long curved beak.

分布

• 台灣 : in a small marsh in Ilan County, very rare.
• 世界 : India and Indochina.
